About Thomas

Thomas van der Burg is a Dutch film and media composer. He wrote the music for Martin van Waardenberg’s successful film Ome Cor, a hit on Netflix and Amazon Prime, featuring an all-star cast including Frank LammersPierre Bokma and Huub Stapel. He also collaborated with composer Jeffrey van Rossum (The Tatta’s) on the film score for The Infinite Slime Film, which was shown in cinemas across the country and received a Golden Film Award.

Thomas has created melodic and adventurous scores for many short films such as Knight Marie, for which he received a BUMA nomination for Best NewcomerMy Parents Live on Jupiter (Rutger van Hulst) and Es Mineur (Winner Best Music 48HFP).  Thomas also composed the theme music for Dutch television shows Jacobine and Jekels Jacht. His compositions in a range of genres are featured in production music libraries and regularly placed in film and TV productions around the world.

Thomas began his musical journey as a keyboard player for rock and pop bands and studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg. During his studies he interned for the LA-based, Dutch Composer Joep Sporck, composer of many Dutch feature films and American movie trailers (Incredibles 2, The Joker). Thomas currently lives near Amsterdam in the picturesque village of Baarn, where he has a home studio.
